HATHA YOGA
In Sanskrit ha, means "the sun," and tha, means "moon." This holistic practice was developed to create balance in the universe that exists within the human body. The word 'Hatha' also implies force. An ancient ritual with roots in Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, each pose in Hatha Yoga is held for a longer period of time to build endurance, improve concentration and achieve alignment. In this style of yoga, success isn't measured by the number of 'sets' one can complete, but in how deep a practitioner can go in a static pose. It is as much a test of the mind's strength as a physical workout. Students are guided gently into each pose by the teacher and are also given the option to attempt modified poses until they feel ready — making Hatha Yoga a truly inclusive & empowering practice.
ASHTANGA YOGA
Ashtanga Vinyasa, often described as 'meditation through movement' is a powerful symphony of postures that bring awareness to our breath, body and being. Pioneered by Shri T. Krishnamacharya and later popularized by BKS Iyengar and K. Pattabhi Jois, this form of yoga engages every cell from head to toe — building physical and emotional resilience through consistent practice. By integrating inhalations and exhalations with asanas, the Vinyasa Series calls for the practitioner to be fully present in the moment. In doing so, it frees our mind from distracting thoughts and helps us reconnect with our 'real self.' Although taught in a group, students are highly encouraged to memorize the sequence and set their own pace to create a truly personal experience.
